Animal Farm Poem

Animal Farm was once a peaceful place
Till Old Major came along
and said no more power for the human race
So that’s what they did the animals and all
Chased and beat the humans to their fall
The power had been corrupted for the first time
And guaranteed it would not be the last
For two young pigs came and took charge
Napoleon and Snowball whose opinions would not barge
All Napoleon wanted was power
The animals mostly saw them bicker every hour
It was over a silly windmill they fought
In this Napoleon had to be right
So he sent his blood-thirsty dogs after Snowball and into the dark night
Snowball was never seen from then on
But Napoleon blamed everything on him that went wrong
Now Napoleon was sole leader of the kin
And the power had been corrupted yet again
Napoleon did not care what happened next
Because he would keep leading
Until his final rest

Poetry videos

I watched Allison Strong read My Mistress' Eyes Are Nothing Like the Sun by William Shakespeare. She does a great job of physical presence and voice and articulation. You never get the feeling that she over does anything.
With her physical presence and voice and acticulation she really helps you understand the poem. its basically explaining everything about the mistress and what shes like and how her eyes arent like the sun.

Mockingbird Motif

At the beggining of the year i had no clue what motif ment. Even when we had to do it for the summer assignment i was still unsure of the true meaning of motif was. I think that To Kill a Mockingbird has definatly helped me understand what motif is.
The mockingbird motif basically means its wrong to hurt something that is fragile or a sin to kill a mockingbird. It definatly adds to the other symbolic themes of the book like racism. Take Tom Robinson for example hes like a mockingbird because he didnt do anything wrong, but people are trying to accuse him of terrible things just because he is black.

Advice

One thing that my parents have always told me is to stay positive. What they mean is if you dont stay positive you cant accomplish very much, and if you do stay positive you can accomplish much more. This advice has never let me down my whole life.
The one time this advice seemed the most true was when i was 13 and playing in the regional championship game. We were losing by three runs and it was our last at bat but for some reason every one on the team was relaxed and having fun and looking at the postives. We ended up winning the game, but I think it was mostly because every stayed positive and no one seemed to ever lose faith.

best friend

My best friend is John Stormans. The first time i ever met him was at basketball practice in 6th grade. Its kinda funny cause John is one of the best atheletes i no. He has a great body from all the sports he plays. Hes about 5 8 and weighs and 130 pounds. Also he is a very outgoing person and is always craking jokes.
Right a away i could tell he was more of an Extrovert than Introvert. Most of the time John is practicing tennis. Hes really good at it. Hes very laid back which is good to have in a friend if you are always cracking a good joke with him. Overall hes a great guy and im glad hes my friend.

memory

one of the earliest memory i can remeber is when i went to hawaii in first grade. i was so excited. not only was i going to hawaii for the first time to see some of my family i havent seen since i was like two i also got to there on a plane. when we got on the plane i remeber i was so excited but 10 minutes later i was asleep till we got to hawaii. when we got there my aunts, uncles, and cousin met us at the airport. boy, that was a happy moment in my life. then we wen to there house and went swimming. i remeber that was the first time i had ever swam in the ocean i think.
a week went by and it was time to fly back to olympia. i remeber i was so sad to leave hawaii cause my cousins were so cool. my parents had to drag me out of the thier house. then we got on the plane and flew home and the greatest vacation ever was over.

Treasure Island Imagery

In treasure island the author uses a lot of imagery. i think he uses it to really show how hard times were back then. the way he describes the looks and the smells that pirates have really makes me understand the book better and that time peroid.
also whenever the author introduced a new setting he described it very well. one thing the Robert Louis Stevenson did that really helped paint a picture in my head was his use of jargon and pirate terms.one example is all there terms for the different parts of the ship. overall if treasure island didnt have the imagery it has the book would be alot more hard to follow and would be confusing.

book

Treasure Island is going very well. This is the type of book that immediately grabs my attention because i like pirates and adventures. So far i can tell i am going to get both. so far it hasnt been hard to get into because i just want to finish it and its not that bad so far. the most reoccurring element so far is motif. it is sorta obvious. the book was probably written in this manner to get a point across. most fiction books have a deeper meaning to them, and i think this is one of them. the tone of the book so far is kinda dramatic. so far the tone hasnt changed from to chapter because ive only read two chapters and the tone is dramatic. i see most of the book staying inthis tone.

Reading

When i read a book that doesnt interest it is very difficult for me to stick with it. One example is The Cathcher in the Rye. Within the first few pages of the book i already thought that i hated the book, but i new i had to read it. So thats what i did. Suprisingly i ended up liking the book.So now whenever i start a book i dont like i stick with it a little longer to see if ill end up liking it like i liked The Catcher in the Rye.
When my ideal reading place isnt avaliable i dont read. I like it perfectly quiet. If it isnt i end up listening to the noises around me and thinking about them instead of the book. as a result i wont be able to remeber a thing.
Fiction books are my favorite. I like them because you never no what can happen in them. They always can keep you guessing. Also i read fiction because i like creativity. I dont like boring books with no creativity or personality.
